Hawaiian 'Awa (Kava) Root Powder

Imagine the ancient Polynesian voyagers of centuries past using the stars to guide their sailing canoes over thousands of miles of open ocean to the most isolated island chain in the Pacific. With them they brought a variety of life sustaining plants for food, fiber, clothing and shelter. However, the most sacred revered plant of all was the 'Awa, used to strengthen and sustain their connection to the spirit world. This 'Awa is a blend of two Hawaiian varieties known as Spotted Hiwa and Moi.

Extra fine grind makes for easy mixing and very little waste. One pound (453g) of kava powder makes approx. 12 quarts (11.4 liters) of kava beverage. Please see our recipe page for instructions.
